Fearful Adults
Hello Fellow Swimmers!
Working with adult swimmers is such a great experience. We enjoy helping someone work on perfecting their technique; what's even more satisfying is helping a new swimmer overcome a fear.
A fear of the water is something that makes perfect sense to us. There is air above, and death below! Working with a new swimmer to learn how to handle that fear is a big part of why we teach swimming. It is wonderful to celebrate breakthroughs, and working around stumbling blocks.

Begin to Breathe
Hello Fellow Swimmers!
One of the problems swimmers come across, while in the earlier stages of learning, has to do with breathing. There doesn't seem to be enough time to breathe in as much air as you want! This results in drinking the water, water getting in your nose, or getting tired very quickly.

Balance Point
Hello Fellow Swimmers!
One of my favorite things to work on with newer swimmers who are comfortable with their faces in the water: Balance Point!
This is, as they say, easier said than done. Thinking about your balance point while swimming will help keep you more flat on top of the water.

Multiple Swimmer lessons
Hello Fellow Swimmers!
Working with multiple students can be very rewarding, seeing how they encourage each other. The improvement may also be faster than having a solo lesson.

Preparing Littles for Submersion
Hello Fellow Swimmers!
When it comes to getting your little one more comfortable in the water, you can start with bath time! Get them used to water covering their face by starting with a cue, and following up with pouring some water.

First Lesson With Newer Swimmer
Hello Fellow Swimmers!
In the last week, I have worked with 3 students 3 years old or younger. It has been a blast working with these little swimmers!
It took a while to win their trust, as we had not met before our first lesson. Since we hadn't met yet, the little swimmer might still have a hard time. They have little say in having the lesson, and that is a hard thing for them to deal with sometimes!
